When I moved to Stillwater in 2017, I quickly noticed the lack of airbrush tanning services in the area. Recognizing the need in our community, I launched Shimmer Airbrush Tanning that April. Since then, it has been my passion to help you feel radiant and confident, bringing out your most beautiful, best selves.

  • Gently exfoliate your skin the day before your spray tan. Focus on areas that tend to be dry, such as elbows, knees, and feet. Use a scrubbing glove or a gentle body scrub to achieve even skin texture. If you shave, do it at least 24 hours before your appointment. This allows the skin to calm down and prevents irritation that can affect the tan. If you must moisturize, apply a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to your skin after exfoliating. Hydrated skin helps the spray tan adhere evenly and last longer. Refrain from using heavy lotions, oils, or perfumes on the day prior to your spray tan. These products can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution. By following these steps, you'll ensure your skin is in optimal condition for a flawless spray tan.

  • Choose loose-fitting clothing for the day before your tan application to avoid friction and irritation on the skin.

  • A spray tan typically lasts 5-10 days, depending on factors like skin type, pre-tan exfoliation, and post-tan care. The tan fades as the top layer of skin naturally sheds dead skin cells. Proper prep and moisturizer daily afterward can help extend the life of the tan.

  • It's reccomended to wait at least 24 hours before exercising, swimming or showering, after a spray tan. Sweat, chlorine or saltwater can prematurely fade the tan.

  • No, a spray tan does not provide any UV protection. The darkened skin from a spray tan is purely cosmetic and does not increase the skin's resistance to UV radiation. It is crucial to still use SPF of at least 30 when outdoors, even if your skin appears tan.

  • An appointment takes approximately 20 minutes. Amber, will ensure every inch is evenly coated.

  • With airbrush tanning we can customize everything. We can use one undertone or mix them, and we can go as light or as dark as you want. Amber will discuss this in your consultation to ensure you reach your desired look + outcome.
